Lewisville Lake Cruise & Brunch
“Know Before You Go”
For those lucky people about to enjoy the Saturday, May 5th brunch aboard the Chamonix II Catamaran, here is some information you will find helpful. The cruise will begin at 10:30 A.M, from Pier 11 at 1481 East Hill Park Road, Lewisville. To get to the Marina, take I35W to Lewisville and exit Highway 121. Follow 121 to Strandridge Road (approximately 8 miles after I35). Go left on Strandridge and take another left at the first stop sign, which is LakeRidge/Memorial and then take a right onto East Hill Park Road. Go right in between the Slalom Shop building and the Waterworks building and park outside of the members only gated parking area. Apparently Mapquest, or a GPS navigation system will not direct you to the right location. If you would like to contact the business, the number is 214-705-3772, or you can visit their website at www.bigdcats.com. If, for any reason, you find you cannot go, contact the trip coordinator, Susan Meier at 262-3356. Remember, you are going to be aboard a moving vessel, so non-slip shoes are recommended. The brunch will end at 1:00 P.M. Go hungry and prepare to relax!
One of the most popular Road Runner sponsored events is the brunch cruise of Lake Lewisville aboard the Chamonix II. This unique catamaran offers a buffet station, dance floor, roof deck, shade and canopy enclosures from which you can have an unobstructed and relaxing view of the lake. There is also a seated bar area, where drinks can be purchased. This year, the cruise will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 10:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Transportation is on your own, but a yummy brunch will be provided by Blue Mesa, for only $39 per person. Nothing soothes the soul like sailing on water, good food, a few libations and the company of friendly people. Tickets will be available at the Club House from the trip coordinator, Susan Meier on Monday, April 9th and Wednesday, April 11th, from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M.
